Common questions

Can’t see your question? Send us a message.

Is DriverStop a food ordering app?

No. We don’t take orders from customers. We connect businesses with delivery drivers, and the agreement for each shift is between the business and the driver.

How far ahead can I book a driver?

Up to 24 hours ahead. A shift can be anything from 1 to 8 hours.

Will a driver always accept my shift?

We can’t promise every shift gets picked up, but it goes out to registered drivers as soon as you post it and the first to accept is booked in.

Who pays the driver, and when?

The business pays the driver directly at the end of the shift. It’s the UK minimum wage of £12.71 an hour, including delivery fees, plus any extra miles.

What does it cost to join?

Businesses and drivers pay a single activation fee and then a monthly membership. The app shows the current fees before you pay, and there’s no minimum term.

What do I need to become a driver?

You need to be self-employed with insurance that covers delivery work. You can use a car, van, motorbike, moped or bicycle, or deliver on foot, and motor vehicles need a valid MOT and tax. You’ll also need your driving licence, proof of ID and good spoken English, and we may ask you to pass background checks.

What if a shift gets cancelled?

Once a driver has accepted your job, cancelling costs £20. If a driver cancels it costs them £20, and not turning up costs £50.
